John Jinapor launches GHC 1m scholarship fund for students in his constituency

Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, John Jinapor, has launched a GHC 1 million Education Scholarship Fund to support brilliant but financially disadvantaged tertiary students in his constituency.
Announcing the initiative on social media, Jinapor explained that the fund is designed to ease the financial strain on parents and expand access to quality education for young people.
“As Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, I launched a One Million cedis (Ghs 1,000,000) Education Scholarship Fund to support brilliant but needy tertiary students within my constituency,” he stated.
He added that the support will cover students “at various levels of education, from basic through tertiary institutions,” and is part of efforts to “help reduce the financial burden on parents and promote equal access to quality education.”
Speaking at the official launch, Jinapor underscored his commitment to investing in the next generation.
“Education remains the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities,” he said, stressing that the fund will be managed transparently to ensure that beneficiaries are chosen based on merit and genuine need.
The initiative, he noted, aligns with his broader vision to empower the youth, improve educational outcomes, and drive sustainable development in the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency.
