John Mahama is incorruptible – Bawah Mogtari affirms

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s spokesperson, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has steadfastly maintained that her boss is incorruptible.

This claim is made in spite of a recent article in Ben Ephson’s Daily Dispatch claiming that some appointees in Mahama’s previous administration spent more than $8 million on opulent mansions in Dubai.

Bawah Mogtari denounced Ben Ephson in a statement on Tuesday, June 25, for trying to damage former President Mahama’s reputation.

She accused Mr. Ephson of trying to deflect attention from the urgent problem of state capture by purposefully disregarding the widespread corruption in the current Akufo-Addo administration.

The narrative was criticized by Bawah Mogtari as a “syndicated” attempt to divert attention away from the public and damage Mahama’s standing.

“The recent NPP syndicated story, deviously using Mahama’s name as a distraction, is just another ploy to divert attention from the alarming state capture that is unfolding under this administration.

“The looting of state lands and properties has reached unprecedented levels and has been a topic of discussion in the past few weeks. This syndicated story is, therefore, just another diversion to distract the public’s attention.”

Joyce Bawah Mogtari stated that John Dramani Mahama’s reputation cannot be damaged by the bogus charges made by Ben Ephson and the New Patriotic Party, since they have been proven innocent despite their persistent efforts to discredit him.

“No amount of loose and imagined associations from Ben Ephson and his NPP friends can overturn this immutable fact that Mahama stands vindicated from all their mudslinging.”

The former president is ready to take back office and carry out a comprehensive strategy for Ghana’s economic revival, according to the spokeswoman for Mr. Mahama.

She also pledged that Mahama would look into and prosecute dishonest officials in the current NPP administration who have been charged with misconduct and poor management in order to guarantee accountability and transparency.

“Rest assured, Mr Mahama will reclaim the presidency to revitalise Ghana’s economy and hold corrupt NPP officials accountable.”
