‘Jokers!’ — Ofosu Nkansah responds to criticism over loyalty to NPP

The flagbearership race within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is heating up, with sharp exchanges between camps loyal to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong ahead of the January 2026 primaries.
Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, former CEO of NEIP and a known Bawumia ally, has hit back at critics, suggesting he spent years “kissing ass” for the NPP.
“Some of these Ken people are not serious. That I used to go and speak for NPP on Oman FM and Net 2, so I was kissing ass for years? Is everything okay? They should look up what ass kissing means if they don’t understand that phrase. Jokers!” Nkansah posted.
Meanwhile, in a related development, Kennedy Agyapong has responded to what he describes as disrespect from within his own party.
Addressing polling station executives, the Assin Central MP said he considers himself one of them, and any disregard shown to him reflects a wider disregard for the grassroots.
“They say my English isn’t good enough to be president. I, Ken Agyapong, have served in Parliament for 24 years. So I ask you: If they have no respect for my 24 years of service, what respect do you think they have for you, my grassroots polling station executives?” he wrote on social media.
Kennedy further accused his opponents of weaponising his command of English against him, insisting that language skills should not be the basis for choosing a presidential candidate.
He also warned that the NPP is “headed in the wrong direction” and called on delegates to “rescue the party” from leadership he believes does not prioritize the grassroots.
