Judiciary among Ghana’s worst performing institutions — Media personality JB

Onua Maakye, co-host, JB, has criticised Ghana’s governance institutions, accusing them of neglecting their duties and failing to deliver justice to the people.
Speaking during an appearance on The KSM Show monitored by MyNewsGh, JB argued that the very institutions tasked with protecting the nation’s integrity have instead become symbols of inefficiency and mistrust.
JB described the judiciary as one of the weakest arms of government, claiming that its lack of accountability has eroded public confidence.
“The judiciary is one of the worst performing institutions in Ghana,” he said, adding that corruption and delays in the justice system have created a sense of hopelessness among citizens.
Turning his attention to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), the broadcaster criticized what he called its politicized posture and inaction on major corruption cases.
“We don’t expect the OSP to sit behind a microphone and talk anyhow. If he’s fed up, get out and let someone else do the job,” JB said, stressing that Ghanaians want results, not public relations.
He also accused some public figures of evading justice and challenged law enforcement agencies to pursue such individuals with urgency.
For him, selective accountability and endless investigations without convictions only deepen public frustration.
Though his words were sharp, JB maintained that his criticism was rooted in concern for national progress.
He said Ghanaians, especially the youth, are increasingly impatient with leadership failures and institutional weakness. If these issues are not addressed, he warned, widespread anger could push the nation toward unrest.
