Julius Debrah inaugurates MiDA board, urges support for CEO

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has inaugurated the new Board of Directors of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), urging them to give full backing to Chief Executive Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould, whom he praised as “very innovative and progressive.”
The ceremony, held in Accra on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, underscored MiDA’s central role in advancing government’s development agenda. Mr. Debrah called on the board to provide strong support and guidance to ensure the authority’s objectives are achieved.
The board is chaired by Charles Abugre Akelyira and includes key government ministers: Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Energy Minister John Abdulai Jinapor, Gender Minister Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine, and Trade Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare. Other members are MiDA CEO Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould, John Awuah of the Private Enterprise Foundation, Ralph Mawuenyega Kojo Ayitey of the Association of Ghana Industries, and Ing. Dr. William Amuna.

Speaking on behalf of the chair, Energy Minister John Jinapor pledged the board’s commitment to supporting President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda. He assured that the board would work to fast-track initiatives aimed at accelerating sustainable economic growth.
The new board is expected to provide strategic oversight to MiDA as it aligns its programmes with the government’s priorities.
