Kanye West claims dentist malpractice led to nitrous oxide addiction

Kanye West, now known as Ye, and his wife, Bianca Censori, have filed a legal case against Beverly Hills dentist Dr. Thomas Connelly, accusing him of malpractice.

They allege that the dentist’s actions led Ye to develop an addiction to nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, causing both physical and psychological harm.

In a press release issued on May 1, 2025, the couple revealed that they served Dr. Connelly with a formal notice of intent to sue, a step required under California law before filing a malpractice claim.

The notice accuses the dentist of gross negligence, fraud, and the reckless administration of substances.

They claim Dr. Connelly charged Ye $50,000 a month for nitrous oxide and manipulated Ye’s health condition for financial gain, even allegedly trying to seize control of his business ventures during a period of incapacitation.

The legal action sheds light on claims that Ye’s addiction to nitrous oxide resulted in long-term neurological damage and severe financial losses.

This case first came to public attention in August 2024, when Ye’s former representative, Milo Yiannopoulos, filed a complaint with the California Dental Board.

Yiannopoulos accused Dr. Connelly of exploiting Ye’s vulnerability for profit.

Dr. Connelly has yet to respond publicly to the allegations, and the case is ongoing.
