Ken Agyapong announces 2028 NPP presidential bid

Businessman and politician Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong has officially declared his intention to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2028 Presidential Primaries.
In a statement released on July 29, 2025, the outspoken MP confirmed that he made the announcement through his media platforms, Net2 TV and Oman FM, following the opening of nominations.
“What brings me the greatest joy is the overwhelming love and support pouring in from every corner of the country,” he said, highlighting that the encouragement is coming not just from NPP faithful but also from young people, professionals, and even Members of Parliament. According to him, some individuals have gone as far as offering to pay for his nomination forms.
Ken Agyapong described his presidential bid as a collective mission aimed at uniting Ghanaians across political and regional divides.
“Together, we will rise above partisanship, unite across regions, and build a Ghana where every citizen, young or old, rich or poor, has a fair shot at success,” he emphasized, pledging to lead with integrity and purpose.
In the same statement, he took a moment to extend birthday wishes to Lawyer Kwaku Amoh-Darteh, his Communications Director and the General Manager of the Kencity Group, commending him and his team for their continued dedication.
Ken Agyapong, who ran in the party’s 2023 flagbearership race but did not succeed, seems poised to reignite his ambitions with renewed energy as the 2028 race begins to take shape.
