Ken Agyapong’s followers must stop blaming 2024 defeat on just Bawumia

The former chief executive of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has urged followers of Kennedy Agyapong to desist from blaming Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the party’s defeat in 2024.

He explains that Kennedy Agyapong has, over the years, insisted that the NPP lost the 2024 elections in 2022 because Ghana was facing an economic crisis.

An indication that even if he were elected as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections, he would have lost the election.

Making this position known in a post shared via social media, he said, “If Hon. Ken admits we lost the election in 2022, then it simply means that even if he had won the primaries, we would have still lost.”

Adding that “His People should stop blaming Dr Bawumia for our defeat then. We lost the election through our collective actions, not because of our candidate”.

To him, there should not be any circumstance where supporters of Kennedy Agyapong will exempt him from the government that lost the 2024 election.

“Ken Supporters should stop saying their candidate wasn’t part of the Government. He was a Board Chairman of one of the biggest state institutions, Ghana Gas. His wife was also a big Board Chair. He had more influence in the Government than 99% of NPP appointees, even when he wasn’t an appointee in the first term. Me that I was CEO of an agency which was like an Internet cafe (ADC) koraa wouldn’t say I wasn’t part of the Government then. Monnya saa ns3m no ka,” he stated in a post shared via social media.
