KNUST admits 50,895 students for 2024/2025 academic year

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has welcomed a total of 50,895 newly admitted students for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Announcing this at the virtual matriculation ceremony, KNUST Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, revealed that the university received 92,975 applications, of which 69,882 met the basic entry requirements.

However, due to certain constraints, KNUST could only admit 50,895 students, comprising 11,084 postgraduate students and 39,811 undergraduate students.

Addressing the matriculation ceremony, Prof. Dickson emphasized the significance of the event as an important academic tradition that formally integrates students into the university.

You have satisfied the entrance requirements of this University, and I formally admit you as junior members in statu pupillari of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST. You are now members of a community committed to advancing knowledge for sustainable development in Africa. Embrace the university’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Relevance, Excellence, and Stewardship.”

Prof. Dickson encouraged students to take advantage of the digital tools and resources available at KNUST, such as the KNUST Virtual Classroom and the E-Learning Centre’s training sessions, which are designed to enhance their academic experience.

She also urged them to seek support from the Directorate of Students Affairs, the KNUST Counselling Centre, and other student support services to help them navigate university life effectively.
