Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe Named Among Top 10 Women in PR

The Director of Corporate Affairs of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excelence in ICT (GI-KACE), Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe has been named among Ghana’s Top 10 Women in Public Relations (PR) of the Women in PR Ghana Ranking. She was recognized among other great PR practitioners. The award which is in the seventh year, recognizes celebrates remarkable contributions of women in the field of PR, highlighting their leadership and contribution to the grooming of the next generation of female PR Practitioners, impactful campaigns and dedication to the development of the PR industry.

Her 2024 Contributions to PR
Kobi Hemaa’s involvement in leadership, PR campaigns, educational initiatives and community events reflects a strong commitment to nurturing critical thinking and development of the PR profession. In 2024, she spearheaded key initiatives promoting female participation in technology and led national campaigns equipping young people with critical IT skills. Her passion for mentorship is evident in her dedication to coaching young professionals in media, public relations, artificial intelligence, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Throughout the year, as the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), she played a pivotal role in the re/Start initiative, a program designed to enhance digital technology competencies among the youth. The initiative aimed to reduce youth unemployment by offering training in areas such as Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Computing. The first phase of the entired program successfully trained two thousand, nine hundred and fifty four participants.
She led the stakeholder campaign of the Technology-Enabled Open School Project (TeOSS) implemented by Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) in partnership with UNESCO and Huawei. The initiative which is part of a global intervention aims to leverage technology to enhance the digital skills of students from diverse backgrounds including girls, persons with disabilities and rural under-served communities, thereby contributing directly to Ghana’s progress towards all targets of SDG 4. Kobi Hemaa also led her team to implement PR campaign for the eskills4Jobs initiative, that resulted in empowering two thousand, seven hundred and thirty-five with the digital capabilities necessary to thrive in today’s global job market.
Through strategic content creation and management, she has significantly enhanced social media engagement and visibility for numerous high-profile politically exposed persons, brands and corporate institutions, fostering stronger connections with their audiences and stakeholders.
Her Contribution to Social Entrepreneurship
She believes the climate crisis is also a leadership and communication crisis. Therefore, as the Snr Vice President of External Relations and Corporate Strategy for SUCCA Africa, she has stepped in to fill the communication void in the fight against climate change that has yet to be the status quo in the climate movement.Â
Outside her professional roles, she has actively engaged in consultancy work, advising individuals and corporate institutions on branding, protocol, and public diplomacy. This exposure has afforded her a comprehensive understanding of stakeholder perceptions and audience engagement. As a public diplomacy practitioner, digital marketing strategist, she has coached clients in public speaking techniques, resulting in improved confidence and presentation skills during high-stakes events.

Throughout her career, she has held various leadership positions where communication was central. As the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT, she plays a pivotal role in shaping narratives and fostering trust amidst the challenges posed by digital misinformation. Her tenure as Head of Corporate Communications at Ghana Post Company Limited further sharpened her crisis management skills, preparing her to respond swiftly and effectively to incidents. Her extensive experience in media, notably as Head of Television at Homebase Television and Deputy Managing Director at Light Television, provided her with firsthand insight into the mechanisms of media manipulation and the dissemination of information. This practical knowledge is invaluable in devising effective strategies to promote brands and activities seamlessly.
Academic Background
With a diverse academic background, Kobi Hemaa brings a unique blend of expertise to the field of communication. Her journey commenced with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems, which provided a solid quantitative foundation essential for critically assessing data and information. This initial academic pursuit was complemented by an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Economic Policy, equipping her with insights into strategic decision-making and policy formulation, crucial skills for discerning and addressing the motivations behind public relations campaigns. Building on this foundation, she pursued a Master’s in Public Relations, enhancing her understanding of effective communication strategies while emphasizing transparency, credibility, and ethical practices. Additionally, her certification in Digital Marketing Strategy from the University of the Arts, London, armed her with the latest tools and techniques to navigate the digital realm where communication has now moved from traditional media to digital media.
