Kofi Adams shares his experience at the Sports Ministry

Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams, has shed light on his experience since assuming office, addressing long-standing rumours about the alleged “mafia” culture within the Sports Ministry.
Speaking in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, Adams admitted he had heard multiple warnings about the alleged behind-the-scenes power play and manipulation within the Ministry.
However, according to him, his personal experience so far has been nothing like what was described.
“Maybe my action is not generating that type of reaction that has been seen in the past, but it’s given me results.
“I wouldn’t say it’s mafia, but I heard they say it’s mafia. Everybody warns you to be careful, they are this, they are that. I haven’t truly seen what they have been telling me – that they can set you up with money and what have you,” Adams said.
Touching on the public perception that ministers are directly involved in financial transactions or expenditures, Adams was quick to clarify the scope of his responsibilities.
“As a minister, your duty is not to handle money; you are not the lead spender of the funds, and you are not a signatory to the account,” he explained.
His comments come at a time when public scrutiny of the Sports Ministry has intensified, following years of allegations concerning financial mismanagement, favoritism, and interference in sporting affairs
