Ghana’s Supreme Court has halted the rerun of the election in Kpandai.
The Electoral Commission had slated the election for December 30 after a Tamale High Court ruling.
But Ghana’s apex court on Tuesday December 16, 2026 rules that the EC should halt all activities related to the rerun.
The case has since been adjourned to January 13, 2026 for further considerations of issues raised by the parties.
It is not clear if the seat will continue to remain vacant as constituents await the verdict of the Supreme Court next year.
