Kwabena Agyepong’s team insists all party fees have been settled

Addressing questions about the campaign’s financial obligations to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), spokesperson Ofosu Asamoah maintained that Kwabena Agyepong’s team had fulfilled all requirements to participate in the final ballot.
“We don’t have any problem with the party. If we had any problem, we would have prevented this process from taking place,” he explained. “Once we are here like any other person, it means we have met all requirements. We have satisfied all the conditions; that is why we have participated in the final process leading to the printing of the ballot paper which will be used on the test day.”
When asked directly if the campaign had paid the GH₵4 million development fee in full, Asamoah chose not to confirm or deny, instead referring journalists to the appropriate department.
“I think I will direct you to the finance office. They will tell you. After all, you have tried your rumours. You have told them that rumours, rumours,” he remarked.
He further stressed that the campaign’s participation in the balloting exercise was clear evidence that all outstanding matters had been resolved.
“You are saying that we were given 48 hours and that the 48 hours expired yesterday,” he said.
“And today, there has been a further process subsequent to the 48 hours, which is the balloting, which we have successfully taken part in. And I am sure everybody in the world has seen it, including you.”
Kwabena Agyepong, who picked the number five position on the ballot, remains one of the contenders in the NPP’s upcoming presidential primaries as the party seeks its next flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
