Kwesi Pratt’s push for ambassadorial appointment is hypocrisy

Former NDC MP Ras Mubarak has launched a scathing attack on veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt, accusing him of hypocrisy and entitlement regarding government appointments.
Mubarak’s outburst follows criticism from Pratt, who has been vocal about the NDC’s governance despite allegedly benefiting from the very system he critiques.
Mubarak did not hold back in his remarks, pointing out that the current NDC administration has been more inclusive of non-party members than any previous government.
“If there’s any government since JJR, that’s recognized more neutrals and non-NDC members, it is this government,” he stated, questioning why Pratt and his family continue to receive government privileges despite not actively working for the party’s success.
He specifically took issue with an ambassadorial appointment linked to Pratt’s daughter, Ama Pratt, arguing that many dedicated and qualified NDC members deserve such positions.
“So what’s the noise about? Ambassadorial appointment at the chagrin of party members? He should cut us some slack. If positions are giving to party members, they are deserving of it,” Mubarak said.
His frustration was clear as he directly called out Pratt’s perceived double standards, suggesting that despite receiving preferential treatment, Pratt still finds faults with the NDC.
“Does he know the number of Qualified party members who can do a better job than Ama Pratt?” he asked, before making it clear that his criticism was not personal. “I’m sorry Ama, really sorry coz u are a nice person but Mr. Pratt’s crass hypocrisy is nauseating.”
