Leave if she loves her pastor more than you

Media personality Eric Gugua has sparked conversation online with a bold statement directed at men in relationships with overly pastor-devoted partners.
In a post shared on social media, Gugua cautioned against marrying women who place their spiritual leaders above their significant others.
“I really don’t think it’s a good idea to go ahead and marry someone who very clearly loves and adores her pastor or church leader more than she does you,” he wrote.
His message resonated with many online users who echoed similar concerns about emotional boundaries and misplaced priorities in relationships. Gugua didn’t mince words about the implications of ignoring such red flags.
“Tbh, I think it’s an incredibly unwise thing to do, especially when they have shown you (and in some cases even told the man point blank) that your views and opinions come second to that of this person,” he stated.
Gugua’s post emphasizes the importance of emotional balance and mutual respect in relationships. For him, choosing not to proceed with such a union isn’t rooted in pride, but in clarity and self-preservation.
“It is not pride to leave this person. It’s just purpose preservation,” he concluded.
