Let this be a wake-up call

Popular media personality Radiogad has waded into the ongoing discussion around the arrest of social media activist Verydarkman, describing the development as a cautionary tale for anyone aspiring to fight for Nigerian youths.

“Verydarkman’s arrest should be a wake up call to anybody wey decide say e wan be Nigerian Messiah. Nigerian youths na very selfish people.

“If na better people una be, una for don flood all the GTBank offices dey protest for Verydarkman.

“All of una for don full all the offices of EFCC for Nigeria dey shout ‘Free Verydarkman’,” Radiogad remarked in a video that has since gone viral on social media.

Verydarkman was reportedly picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), though official details about his arrest remain unclear.

The outspoken online figure has gained a reputation for calling out perceived injustices and corruption, often clashing with powerful interests in the process.

Radiogad believes the incident should deter others from putting themselves at risk on behalf of what he calls an “ungrateful and selfish” youth population.

According to him, the lack of public reaction or protests following the arrest proves his point.

He argued that many young Nigerians lack the collective mindset needed for meaningful change, stressing that those who choose to speak truth to power often do so alone and at great personal cost.
