Let’s brace ourselves for more taxes, more hardship—Chairman Coka

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah known popularly as Chairman Coka has asked Ghanaians to brace themselves for more hardship.

According to him, the government intends to introduce new taxes as they announce the scrapping of some taxes.

He is of the view that the taxes that will be introduced will visit untold hardship on the Ghanaian people.

Coka, who made this known in a post shared via social media, said, “Let’s get ready for the introduction of more new taxes, but betting will be out. Hard times ahead. Coka, I care”.

Meanwhile, the finance minister has in the past said that there will be no new taxes to be introduced.

The government intends to announce that it has scrapped e-levy, betting tax, covid-19 levy, among other nuisance taxes.
