Let’s denounce hate campaigns and unite for Ghana

Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has called on Ghanaians to reject hate campaigns and embrace national unity as a tribute to the legacy of Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah.

Afenyo-Markin emphasized the need to rise above divisive politics and prioritize Ghana’s progress.

“Let us leave here, denouncing hate campaigns, whoever and whichever group it may be directed at. Let us put the love and dignity of Ghana and Africa above our differences, because what unites us is far greater than the desire of those who seek to divide and weaken us,” he stated in an address at a remembrance service at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Kyebi to mark the 60th anniversary of Danquah’s passing,

Reflecting on Danquah’s contributions to Ghana’s political history, Afenyo-Markin urged the nation to uphold the principles of freedom, justice, and unity.

“May the legacy of Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah continue to inspire us, guide us, and challenge us to build a Ghana that truly upholds the principles of freedom, justice, and unity,” he added.

The lawmaker further reiterated his long-held belief that Danquah and his family have been the targets of political vilification for decades, a situation he believes has unfairly tainted their role in shaping Ghana’s democratic journey.
