Let the battle begin – Bimbo Ademoye to Ghanaian TV stations

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has issued a stern warning to television stations in Ghana, accusing them of airing her films without permission.
In a video circulated on social media, the actress made it clear that she no longer wishes to negotiate or accept compensation for the unauthorised use of her work.
“That TV station in Ghana, I’m talking to you, don’t show my movies. I haven’t given you permission. Before, I used to say, ‘At least come to me, let’s discuss and share,’ but now, I don’t want your money. Don’t show my movies,” she said emphatically.
Her passionate outcry reflects a broader frustration within Nigeria’s film industry over persistent copyright violations, particularly in foreign markets.
Bimbo did not hold back in expressing her determination to protect her intellectual property, declaring, “Let the battle begin. I will not let anyone profit off my blood, sweat, and sleepless nights.”
The actress’s comments echo similar grievances recently voiced by fellow Nollywood figures Ruth Kadiri and Omoni Oboli, who have also accused some Ghanaian media outlets of routinely broadcasting Nigerian films without authorisation.
