Life is merciless to a poor man – McDan

Ghanaian business mogul Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan, has once again sparked conversation on social media with a candid message about money management and financial discipline.
The CEO of McDan Group offered no sugar-coating as he urged Ghanaians to take control of their finances In a post shared on his official Facebook page sighted by MyNewsGh.
“Don’t play with your finances. Life is merciless to a poor man,” McDan wrote, adding that while his words might sound harsh, they reflect a real-world truth many people ignore.
According to him, life doesn’t pause for those who mismanage their income.
“Bills don’t wait, emergencies don’t ask permission, and opportunities don’t knock twice,” he warned, emphasizing that financial indiscipline can cost more than just comfort—it can derail one’s entire future, including career and personal growth.
Drawing from his own observations and experience, McDan noted that many talented individuals lose out in life not due to a lack of ambition or work ethic, but because they fail to adopt a solid financial strategy.
“The rules of life are different when you’re broke: every mistake is more expensive,” he added.
In his reflection, he advised people to budget, track expenses, and be proactive with financial planning. He stressed the importance of saving first before spending, rather than the other way around.
“Be intentional about your money. Don’t leave things to chance,” McDan urged. “Prepare saving, investing and spending plans before you receive your salary. When money comes into your bank account, simply follow your plan. That’s how you build financial discipline.”
