Lilwin’s Ibrahim Traoré biopic interrupted after violent invasion

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Lilwin has opened up about a shocking disruption that has forced him to halt production on his much-talked-about Ibrahim Traoré biopic.

According to him, chaos erupted at the filming location when about ten unidentified young men stormed the set on motorbikes and demanded that the entire shoot be shut down.

“We tried to reason with them,” Lilwin said, “but things quickly got out of hand. They damaged our equipment and even caused harm to the property.”

The production site, which Lilwin revealed costs GHC 15,000 per day in rental fees, had to be vacated after the landlord grew uneasy about the situation.

“The landlord told us to stop and leave because he didn’t want any trouble,” the actor added.

To make matters worse, Lilwin shared that he has no idea who the men were or what their motives were.

“I don’t know who sent them or why they did what they did,” he lamented.

At the height of the tension, Lilwin reached out to the Ashanti Regional Minister, who has been a major pillar of support throughout the project. Interestingly, the moment he made the call, the group fled the scene.

Despite this major setback, Lilwin remains determined.

“I’ve already reached the climax of the movie,” he said. “So even though we can’t continue shooting for now, I still plan to release it.”
