Lord Lamba laments high cost of dreadlock maintenance in the US, hints at switching to low cut

Popular Nigerian content creator and comedian, Lord Lamba, has expressed frustration over the rising cost of maintaining his dreadlocks in the United States.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Lord Lamba revealed that he spends $800 every two weeks to keep his hair groomed — an amount he now finds excessive.

“$800 maintenance for my dreads every 2 weeks here in America 😡, it’s time to embrace low cut fade,” the comedian wrote.

The post triggered a flurry of reactions online, with many questioning the necessity of such an expense, while others sympathized with the realities of high grooming costs abroad.

Lord Lamba, whose real name is Promise Kelvin Anagbogu, is widely known for his hilarious skits that often depict exaggerated versions of Lagos lifestyle and relationships. His rise to fame came through social media platforms where his content quickly gained traction for its relatable themes and sharp delivery.

Currently based in the U.S., the entertainer’s comments offer a glimpse into the personal adjustments many expatriates face — especially when it comes to lifestyle upkeep.
