On the occasion of Mother’s Day, former First Lady H.E. Lordina Dramani Mahama extended a heartfelt message to Ghanaian women, celebrating their strength, sacrifices, and central role in building the nation.
In her message, Lordina Mahama stated, “Today is an opportunity to pause and honour the incredible strength, unwavering love, and countless sacrifices that mothers make daily. We are the pillars of our homes and the heartbeat of our nation.”
She emphasized that the well-being of homes and children is tightly connected to the nation’s progress and stability.
Echoing her husband John Mahama’s vision for the future, she said, “Creating an environment where every Ghanaian family can prosper is paramount. JM is committed to resetting our economy for inclusive growth and job creation.”
Lordina also reaffirmed her dedication to supporting women and vulnerable groups through the Lordina Foundation. “We will continue empowering women through skills training and economic support, advocating for their rights, and supporting children and persons living with HIV/AIDS,” she noted.
Touching on healthcare, a critical area of focus for her, she pledged continued efforts to improve maternal and child health. “Ensuring mothers receive the best possible care during pregnancy and childbirth is a cause very close to my heart, and I will continue to champion it,” she assured.
She concluded with a blessing: “May your day be filled with joy, peace, and the profound love you so richly deserve. Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and women of Ghana.”
