The President of the Republic has nominated a fresh list of individuals for appointment as District Chief Executives (DCEs) across various districts in Ghana.
The nominations were made in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.
The appointments are subject to the approval of the respective District Assemblies.
In a letter from the Office of the President (Ref: OPS/102/25/1808) dated May 6, 2025, and signed by the Minister, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, the nominees are expected to steer the affairs of their respective Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), pending the completion of the mandatory confirmation process.
The nominations reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening local governance and ensuring effective leadership at the district level.
