Mahama assents to bill abolition e-levy, betting tax

President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has assented to the bill abolishing some taxes by the current government.
The President’s assent which took place today, April 2, 2025 is in fulfilment of a campaign promise of ensuring that such taxes are taken away 120 days after he takes over office.
This is also in line with Article 106(7) of the 1992 constitution.
This comes after Parliament voted on March 25, 2025 to repeal the electronic transfer levy 2022.
