Mahama gov’t committed to strengthening TVET – Apaak

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through increased investment, industry collaboration, and enhanced training opportunities.
Speaking at the grand durbar of Bolgatanga Technical University’s 25th anniversary celebration, Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Apaak outlined the government’s plan to transform TVET.
Reading a statement on behalf of Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, he emphasized the administration’s dedication to bridging existing gaps in technical education.
“To address these challenges, the John Dramani Mahama government will be rolling out a comprehensive Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Transformation Agenda, in the following ways; funding and improving TVET education, enterprise development and job creation, and TVET instructor development,” he stated.
Dr. Apaak highlighted that strategic partnerships with industries would be key to this transformation, ensuring that students gain practical experience through internships and apprenticeships while enhancing research capacity in technical universities.
The government’s TVET agenda is expected to equip young people with relevant skills, boost employment opportunities, and contribute to national economic growth.
