Member of Parliament for Trobu, Gloria Owusu has come under immense attack over her campaign message to the people of Ablekuma North ahead of today’s polls.
In a video that has since gone viral, the Member of Parliament is heard telling people of Ablekuma North that the National Democratic Congress wants to cheat Nana Akua Owusu Afriye, who is a widow, to take her seat from her.
She says the reason is that John Dramani Mahama wants to amend the constitution to give him a third term; hence, the need to get two more seats to be able to execute his agenda of holding on to power after his tenure has elapsed.
Apart from this, she disclosed that John Dramani Mahama wants absolute power to legalize homosexuality in Ghana.
“When we were in power, they said we wanted to introduce LGBTQI+, but since they came, have you seen that they have been silent on it?. Even during a meeting at the AU, they decided to abstain from voting against it. So if you give Mahama the two additional seats, he will have absolute power to introduce LGBTQI+ in Ghana, and that is not what we want. So vote for Akua Afryiyie,” the legislator is heard telling a constituent ahead of the polls.
Ablekuma North goes to the polls today for a rerun of 19 constituencies after the Electoral Commission explained that their pink sheets could not be authenticated.
