Mahama nominates DCEs for key districts

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated several individuals for appointment as District Chief Executives (DCEs) by Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).
The nominations, which cover districts across the Volta, Oti, Ahafo, and Bono Regions, are subject to approval by their respective District Assemblies.
The nominees include Stephen Adom for Ho, Prosper Kumi for Hohoe, and Nicholas Kwabla Worlahcie for Ketu South in the Volta Region.
Dr. Sam Suraj Issaka has been nominated for Akan, Eric Kwaku Oppong for Blakoye, and Parke-Davis Magyigbe for Buem in the Oti Region.
Other notable nominees include Joseph Akparibo for Asunafo North in the Ahafo Region and Collins Asoma for Berekum West in the Bono Region.
The nominations mark a key step in local governance, with the President entrusting these individuals to lead development in their respective districts. The final appointments will be determined after approval by the respective assemblies.
