Mahama spoke well at UN, but galamsey & economy still broken

Former Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has commended the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, for his speech at the UN General Assembly.

He describes the speech as thought-provoking, indicating that the president showcased his leadership capabilities on the international stage.

However, he urged the president to ensure that he translates the same energy back home to help in Ghana’s development.

To him, the president is currently struggling to reset the country he leads and is failing in the fight against illegal mining.

He said in a social media post reacting to the president’s speech that “President Mahama’s address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly was truly commendable, particularly his insights on pressing global issues such as immigration, financing for development, the Middle East conflict, and climate change. His eloquent delivery and thought-provoking perspectives showcased his leadership capabilities on the international stage.

It’s important how such well articulated vision and approach to international development translate to national development in Ghana particularly as the reset economy is not resetting, whilst Galamsey is out of control and free speech is being murdered.

Let’s hope his leadership principles and global perspectives inform his decision-making for the benefit of Ghana’s development.

Best wishes to you Mr. President”.
