Mahama visits families of fallen Air Force servicemen

President John Dramani Mahama has visited the families of three Ghana Air Force servicemen who died in the August 6 military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.
The accident claimed eight lives in total, including Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Muniru Mohammed, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, and NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong.
On August 10, Ghanaians gathered in solemn ceremonies to honour Dr. Murtala Muhammed and Muniru Mohammed. A state funeral for all victims is set for August 15 at the Black Star Square, where President Mahama will also launch an education fund to support the children of the deceased.
He urged the nation to channel its grief into unity and progress, saying the sacrifices of the fallen should inspire a renewed commitment to building Ghana.
