Mahama will deal with Wontumi and his ilk decisively- Sammy Gyamfi assures

Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi says the day of reckoning for the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has come.
In a post shared via social media, Sammy Gyamfi indicated that John Dramani Mahama will deal decisively with Bernard Antwi Boasiako and others who have destroyed forest reserves and water bodies.
His post was accompanied with a documentary of how Akonta Mining which belongs to Wontumi has destroyed water bodies in and the forest in Samreboi.
His post read, “The day of reckoning for Chairman Wontumi and his ilk has come. @JDMahama means business. Together with well-meaning Ghanaians, we shall win the fight against illegal mining and preserve our environment”.
His comments come on the back of an order by the lands and natural resources minister for the licence of Akonta mining to be revoked.
The minister at a press conference on April 21 explained that Akonta Mining has taken over the Aboi forest reserve and is selling concessions to illegal miners who pay weekly royalties after they have paid for the concession.
