Mahama’s administration committed to using technology to fight crime

Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak has indicated that the government is committed to using technology to fight crime.

According to him, the president has made this commitment and will ensure that it sees the light of day during his tenure.

He made this known when he visited the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters.

The minister assured the police that their welfare continues to be paramount, indicating that they will work to ensure that all challenges facing the service are addressed.

Making this known in a Facebook post he said “Earlier yesterday, I paid a familiarisation visit to the Ashanti regional Police Headquarters to have a first-hand insight into the operation of the police in Asanteman. I thanked them for their service to the nation, especially during the 2024 general elections.

I conveyed the vision of HE President John Dramani Mahama to use technology in the fight against crime and the use of body cameras during police operations. Police welfare is paramount to us as a government. We shall work to address the challenges facing the Police Service and to motivate the personnel to give off their best in protecting life and property.

I tasked the Ashanti Regiona Police commander to work closely with the Manhyia Divisional Command to get rid of the Tinker Island, a popular drug hub in the heart of Kumasi within six months.

I thanked the police hierarchy for the warm reception given to me at the Police Regional Command.
