Mahama’s new ambassadors begin preparations for duty tours

Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed optimism and confidence in Ghana’s newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners, praising their competence and commitment as they prepare to assume their diplomatic roles under President John Dramani Mahama.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, the minister disclosed that he had a “fruitful encounter” with the diplomats as the Foreign Ministry officially commenced preparations for their overseas assignments.
“Had a fruitful encounter yesterday with newly appointed Ambassadors and High Commissioners as the Foreign Ministry begins earnest preparations towards the formal commencement of their diplomatic duty tours,” Ablakwa wrote.
He congratulated the appointees and emphasised the President’s deliberate and thoughtful approach to selecting Ghana’s foreign envoys.
“Congratulations to the esteemed envoys. Considering President Mahama’s well-considered ambassadorial appointments based on merit, competence, gravitas, track record and love for country — I have no doubt we shall make a great team to advance the President’s foreign policy imperatives in the best interest of our dear country.”
The diplomatic postings come at a time when the Mahama-led administration is focused on restoring Ghana’s global standing and fostering strategic international partnerships.
