Malik Basintale is the future of the NDC – Blakk Rasta

Ghanaian radio host and reggae artiste, Blakk Rasta, has waded into the controversy surrounding NPP-aligned media personality Okatakyie Afrifa Mensa and Malik Basintale, the Acting CEO of the Youth Employment Agency and a Deputy National Communications Officer of the NDC.

Speaking passionately on his Black Pot show on YouTube monitored by MyNewsGh, Blakk Rasta questioned the real motive behind Afrifa Mensa’s recent outburst directed at Basintale, urging that not every disagreement should be settled in police stations or courts.

“If you belong to the street and I belong to the street, then let’s solve issues the street way. There’s no need going to the police or the court,” he said, adding, “What has Malik done to deserve such an attack? Is it about his car? Is it about the motorbikes? I think Malik has a future, and we must not destroy that.”

Blakk Rasta praised Basintale’s ability to mobilize the youth, describing him as one of the rising stars of Ghana’s political landscape. “At this age, if Malik can have all the youth rallying behind him, it means he controls the future of the party,” he emphasized.

He went on to link Basintale’s influence with Africa’s demographic advantage. “Africa is the youngest continent, and if Malik controls the youth, then he controls the future of Ghana,” he noted.

Blakk Rasta also revealed that Malik Basintale had once acknowledged him as a personal inspiration. “He told me he listens to me every day. He said, ‘Black Rasta, if I’m standing on my two feet today, it’s because of people like you.’ That touched me deeply.”

Reflecting on the biblical and cultural teachings around conflict resolution, Blakk Rasta added: “Even the Bible says don’t take your brother to court. Let the elders come in. Settle it the family way.”

The radio host concluded by calling on the NDC to recognize and nurture Basintale’s talents. “The NDC must watch this guy. He’s one of the futures of the party. With wisdom and purpose, he’s exactly where he’s needed most—working with the youth.”

While Afrifa Mensa has yet to respond fully to Blakk Rasta’s remarks, the outspoken musician made it clear that his loyalty lies with reason, not partisanship. “Let’s support young people like Basintale who carry wisdom and purpose,” he said.
