Man Arrested for Allegedly Setting Wife’s House Ablaze After Domestic Dispute

A man popularly known as French-man has been arrested at Sefwi- Adjoafua in the Western North Region after allegedly setting his wife’s three-bedroom house on fire following a domestic dispute.

According to local sources, the man, who lives with his wife and their child, reportedly became enraged after an argument during which the wife asked him to leave her house.

The following morning, he is alleged to have purchased petrol with the intention of burning the house while his wife and child were inside. However, the woman did not spend the night in the residence, a decision many residents believe prevented a potential tragedy.

The house was completely destroyed by the fire, but no casualties were recorded.

Residents alerted authorities, leading to his swift arrest. He is currently in police custody at the Sefwi-Adum Police Station, assisting with investigations.

Police are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, but the case has heightened concern over rising domestic violence incidents in the area.
