Martin Amidu highlights growing rift between OSP and Martin Kpebu

Anti-corruption campaigner and critic Martin Amidu has highlighted what he calls a serious and escalating rift between Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng and long-time supporter Martin Kpebu.

Amidu noted that the tension intensified after media discussions on allegations involving the OSP and the handling of the pursuit of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

“One of Agyebeng’s staunchest supporters, Martin Kpebu, broke ranks with him,” Amidu stated.

He referenced Kpebu’s criticism of the OSP’s extradition efforts, saying Kpebu described the handling of the case as “incompetent.”

According to Amidu, the OSP’s response further damaged relations. “The OSP escalated the conflict by inviting Kpebu over allegations of corruption,” he wrote.

The dispute reached a new height on 25 November 2025 when Kpebu and his supporters staged a demonstration in Accra demanding Agyebeng’s removal. They later submitted a removal petition to the President at Jubilee House.

Amidu said the public fallout shows the seriousness of concerns about the OSP’s transparency and performance.
