Martin Kpebu denies being investigated by OSP

Lawyer Martin Kpebu has dismissed suggestions that he is under investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), insisting that he was only invited to provide information.
Responding to comments made by Samuel Osei, Director of Strategy at the OSP, Kpebu said the claim that he failed to honour an invitation last Friday was inaccurate. According to him, no proper notice was delivered for that meeting.
“They attempted to invite me for Friday and it failed,” he said in an interview with TV3 monitored by MyNewsGh, adding that he had not received any communication from the OSP through known contacts.
He explained that he noticed a missed call from an unidentified number, which sought to invite him on short notice. “How do you look for me on Thursday afternoon and expect me to appear at the OSP on Friday?” he asked.
Kpebu confirmed that a formal letter was later delivered between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., directing him to appear on Tuesday. He stressed that the letter made it clear he was not a subject of any investigation.
“The purpose of your appearance remains to assist the OSP with information and clarification… Your cooperation will not of itself be treated as evidence of wrongdoing,” he quoted from the document.
Kpebu said he would honour the Tuesday appointment and emphasised that he has never held public office or engaged in any act that could warrant an investigation.
