McDan’s Warehouse at Spintex Demolished by Unidentified Operatives

A warehouse allegedly owned by business mogul Dr. Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan has been demolished along the Spintex Road in Accra.

In the footage, unidentified operatives are seen operating heavy machinery to pull down the warehouse, with no official markings or visible presence of police or city authorities. Caretakers of the warehouse could be heard expressing shock at the action, which appeared unannounced.

In 2023, Mr. McKorley who was board chair of the Ghana Trade Fair had authorized a similar demolition exercise against Raymond Archer, now head of EOCO who was a tenant of the Trade Fair.  At the time, Raymond Archer alleged that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) systematically collapsed businesses perceived to belong to opposition supporters while favouring those aligned with the government, including McDan

.

As of the time of reporting, no formal statement has been issued by McDan Group or any state agency on the demolition exercise at its Spintex location. The motive behind the demolition remains unclear as well as the identity of the individuals involved.
