Meet the 20-year-old communication student contesting face of North UEW 2025

A 20-year-old Level 100 student of the School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS) is among the contestants of this year’s Face of North UEW
Miss Bernice Yeboah, known on stage as Maya, is a vibrant and inspiring 20-year-old who proudly hails from Dormaa in the Bono Region of Ghana. More than her striking presence, Maya embodies kindness, courage, and a passionate commitment to uplifting those around her.
 Maya’s true strength lies in her ability to connect with sincerity and warmth. Her empathy is magnetic, offering comfort and confidence to those in her presence. With fearless authenticity, she listens with intention, speaks with honesty, and treats others with unwavering respect. Her spirit is one of unity, understanding, and dignity.
While negativity may arise, Maya never allows it to take root. She transforms challenges into opportunities and doubt into determination. She believes deeply in the power of uplifting words, community support, and positive action, standing as a true symbol of hope and resilience.
In quiet moments, she finds inspiration in teaching, storytelling through film, and diving into books that feed the imagination and nurture curiosity.
Maya envisions entrepreneurship as a catalyst for transformation. If crowned Face of North UEW 2025, she plans to launch an initiative focused on empowering young entrepreneurs across Ghana. Through mentorship programs, accessible resources, and strategic support, Maya hopes to ignite the next generation of Changemakers, giving them the tools to turn their ideas into impactful realities.
