MFWA boss vows to expose NDC politicians aiding Chinese to mine illegally at Prestea Huni Valley

Executive Director of the Media Foundation of West Africa, Sulemana Braimah, has alleged that some leading members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have forcibly taken a concession from a small-scale mining company and handed it over to Chinese interests.
He says this is happening at Prestea-Huni Valley in the Western Region of Ghana, which should not be allowed.
The executive director of MFWA has vowed to expose these leading members of the National Democratic Congress who are abusing their power to favour foreigners illegally mining in Ghana.
Making this known in a post shared via social media, he said, “Somewhere in Prestea Huni Valley (I had earlier mistakenly said Tarkwa), Western Region, Chinese are busily working at a small-scale mine that has been forcefully taken away from the concession owners (local Ghanaian miners) by powerful NDC politicians. They will be exposed soon!!!”
The illegal mining menace has been one that is currently giving the John Dramani Mahama government a bad name.
There have been several measures put in place by the government to ensure that the menace is fought against; however, the effort of the government is thwarted because some leading members of the political party are neck deep in it.
Recently, the Attorney General wrote to EOCO to investigate Joseph Yamin and Abanga, whom he believes are engaged in galamsey activities. The investigations, according to the Attorney General, should also look into Prof Frimpong Manso report on galamsey activities during the previous administration.
