Mike Oquaye Committee presents findings to party leadership

After months of political postmortem, the 12-member committee to investigate the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general elections has finally handed over its findings to the party’s national leadership.
The much-anticipated presentation happened on Wednesday, April 16, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, where key party figures—including former President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh—were all present.
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua, were also spotted at the event.
The committee, chaired by Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, was tasked with diagnosing what exactly went wrong for the ruling party and proposing practical solutions to avoid future electoral heartbreaks.
While the report was formally handed over, Prof. Oquaye remained tight-lipped, refusing to comment on the contents of the document—at least for now.
As it stands, the party has yet to make the findings public, leaving political observers and party faithful alike curious and eager for answers.
