Minority Notifies Police Of #OccupyBoGProtest on July 30

The Ghana Police Service has been officially informed by the Minority caucus in Parliament that they plan to hold a protest seeking the resignation of Dr. Ernest Addison, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), and his two deputy governors.
Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga sent a letter to the Greater Accra Regional Police headquarters informing them of this news.
In his letter, Mr. Ayariga reaffirmed the caucus’s unwavering position that all present members of the BoG’s board should resign in addition to the governor and his deputies.

The demonstration is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, 2024, with an exact start time of 8 a.m. and an end time of 6 p.m. in Accra, more precisely in the Greater Accra Region.
The beginning point of the demonstration has been selected as Obra Spot, which is situated at Kwame Nkrumah Circle. After that, protesters will march through Adabraka and down Kingsway, ending their demonstration in front of the Bank of Ghana’s main office.
The ongoing development of the BoG’s new North Ridge headquarters is a major issue raised by the Minority caucus.
This development has caused the caucus a great deal of anxiety, so they decided to be proactive and voice their disapproval by organizing a peaceful gathering and protest.
