Miracles Aboagye cautions Kennedy Agyapong over threatening remarks

Former presidential staffer and aide to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has called on NPP presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong to exercise restraint in his public remarks ahead of the 2028 elections.
In a Facebook post, Aboagye described Agyapong’s recent comments as “out of place” and cautioned that they could reopen wounds within the party. He noted that such remarks amounted to “unwarranted threats” that risk provoking divisive reactions from party members.
“Respectfully sir, this is out of place. Definitely not the best of commentary from a flagbearer aspirant. It’s an unwarranted threat and may stir up responses from thousands of people to bring up too many issues,” he wrote.
Aboagye stressed that votes “are not spoken into existence” and that results at polling stations reflect the will of voters, not intimidation.
“If you get zero votes in a polling station, zero votes will be recorded for you and nothing can change that,” he stated, adding that electoral processes have safeguards against manipulation.
He reminded Agyapong of similar comments made during the 2023 presidential primaries, where the Assin Central MP allegedly threatened to destabilise the party if he lost.
“Sir, you know nothing will happen. Not because you cannot do anything. Nothing happened because rules are rules and no human can individually alter them,” he remarked.
Aboagye appealed for unity, warning that divisive rhetoric damages the NPP’s image and electoral fortunes.
“It’s heart bleeding hearing and reading such comments from you as it is obvious it hurts our party at the General elections,” he lamented, urging Agyapong to support the rebuilding process as a senior member of the party.
