MTN to support govt’s 24-hour economy agenda through Momo agents and merchants

MTN Senior Manager for the Western and Central Regions of Ghana, Mr. Prince Nyarko, has announced that MTN is ready to support the government’s 24-hour economy agenda by leveraging Mobile Money (Momo) agents and merchants to create more direct and indirect jobs.

“If you look at the MTN industry, we have merchants and agents that we are working with to ensure that businesses in Ghana flourish and support the broader business environment,” he revealed.

The announcement came during the **MTN Momo Regional Agents and Merchants 2025 Awards Night held in Elmina, which celebrated the company’s top-performing Mobile Money agents and merchants in the Central Region.

MTN Ghana Limited recognized 50 deserving Mobile Money merchants and agents for their outstanding service.

Award winners received certificates and e-cash prizes, with the highest-performing agent receiving GH₵20,000 and the best merchant awarded GH₵15,000.

Mr. Nyarko explained that the company selected merchants and agents who have consistently supported MTN, excelled in their business dealings, and contributed to boosting Ghana’s business economy.

“We are gathered here to reward them for their outstanding service to our cherished Mobile Money customers,” he added.

He further encouraged award winners to continue giving their best and supporting MTN Mobile Money’s growth. On behalf of MTN Ghana, Mr. Nyarko promised that deserving partners will continue to be recognized and rewarded annually.
