The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board has announced the closure of five forts effective December 18, 2025.
The forts suffering this fate are Fort Apollonia, Fort St Anthony, Fort Orange, James Fort, and Ussher Fort.
This is to allow for maintenance work at the place.
The statement announcing this said the maintenance work is being done to ensure that the forts are made safe for continued public access.
