MUSIGA and GHAMRO have been insensitive to Kwadee – Captain Planet

Captain Planet, a member of 4×4 has described the behaviour of Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) and Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) towards the ailing Okomfo Kwadee as insensitive and unfair.

The two music associations are often accused of not patronizing the welfare of musicians especially those in dire situations and the aged. The latest is Okomfour Kwadee who has been captured in a destitute moment in viral videos.

Captain Planet took to his X page to express how musicians should join forces to rescue their ailing colleague, Kwadee.

Speaking to Tony Best on Entertainment 360 on Saturday, February 8, the renowned artiste said he has continually reached out to the artist but its time for collective effort.

“I don’t want to hear the names of GHAMRO and MUSIGA, they are uncaring towards musicians. I get annoyed whenever their names are been mentioned for emphasis. They are not doing what is expected of them,” he told Akoma FM.

“They pay musicians as low as ¢200 as royalties. Their attitude towards Ghanaians leaves much to be desired”, he worried.

Captain Planet believes the associations are aware of Kwadee’s situation but have deliberately turned a deaf ear.
