Muslim victims of helicopter crash to be laid to rest today

Muslim victims of the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash will be buried at the Military Cemetery today, August 10, 2025.
Their burial will be preceded by Janazah prayers at 2:00 at the forecourt of the statehouse in Accra, before their burial at 2:30 pm.
Former Environment, Science, and Technology Minister Dr Murtala Mohammed and former Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna will be buried in line with Islamic customs and traditions.
The burial is expected to draw dignitaries, including the president John Dramani Mahama, his vice, leading members of government, and leading members of the opposition political parties.
Also in attendance will be religious leaders, including the Chief Imam and other leading figures in the Islamic religion in Ghana.
While the two Muslims are being buried today, the president has announced an interdenominational funeral service at the Black Star Square on August 15, 2025.
