My EOCO arrest was God-ordained to help educate the youth on property acquisition—Shatta Wale

Dancehall Artiste, Shatta Wale has learned lessons from his encounter with the Economic and Organized Crime Office.
He believes the lessons he has learned will go down well, especially with the youth, and will direct their path anytime they are investing in a property.
“Raymond Archer is now my best friend because I feel God sent him for us to educate the people, and that is what he did. That is one of the poblems he has solved in the country. People might think he arrested me but all what he did was God ordained,” he explained on Accra-based Joy Prime Television.
He continued, “he’s really opened our eyes to to certain things. I think it is about time the youth have to be wise and know how to purchase properties. Me too, that is what I’m doing right now. If want to purchase something I ask bad man is it stolen?”
Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, was detained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in an investigation related to the tax obligations of a yellow Lamborghini Urus.
This development follows an earlier incident in early August 2025 when EOCO, in collaboration with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), seized the luxury vehicle.
The seizure was part of a larger international investigation, as authorities alleged the car was stolen and connected to the proceeds of a serious fraud scheme.
The seizure was a move under Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office Act, 2010 (Act 804), and the Mutual Legal Assistance Act, 2010 (Act 807).
