My father sacrificed his daughter for you but you failed him– Adwoa Safo to NPP

Former Deputy Majority leader Sarah Adwoa Safo has pointed to internal missteps within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a key reason for its electoral loss, citing the demolition of businesses and the mistreatment of religious leaders as critical factors.

The former Dome Kwabenya MP he expressed frustration over how her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, a staunch supporter of the party, was treated despite his significant contributions.

“My father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has sacrificed his daughter to you and brings the largest votes and the largest constituency to your political party. Is that the way to pay him back?” she questioned in an interview The Pulse on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGH.

According to her, efforts to seek answers following the demolition of their family business were met with silence.

“I called and called, and he never picked up my call. After telling me it was an order from above, he never picked up my call,” she lamented, referring to her attempts to reach Honorable Henry Quartey.

Beyond her father’s ordeal, she criticized the government’s handling of religious leaders, claiming their treatment further alienated key supporters.

“We were arresting pastors who prayed for us to come into government. You expect him to tell his church following to go and vote for NPP again?” she asked.

Reflecting on the party’s loss, she concluded that it was a direct result of its own actions.

“So, I’m telling you—we are the cause of our own problems,” she stated.
