In an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz, renowned Ghanaian singer Nero X opened up about his journey in the music industry, his latest single “Low Key,” and his perspective on the growth of the creative sector in Ghana.
When asked about the recognition he’s received in his career, Nero X shared, “When it comes to awards, I have received a few, both in Ghana and abroad, but I am yet to win accolades from major schemes such as TGMA.
“I have had a few nominations from them though.” However, the artist made it clear that the absence of major awards does not faze him. “That doesn’t bother me at all though.
“My priority is working for my fans, and when the time is right, the awards will come. For now, putting in the work is what matters most,” he emphasized.
Nero X also took the opportunity to reflect on the state of the creative industry in Ghana. He acknowledged the efforts of the current government in fostering growth, saying, “I’m happy with how the creative industry is moving now and the policies being put in place by government although they have been in office for only three months. I hope to see more drastic changes so we can confidently take our crafts global.”
The singer then shifted focus to his latest project, a single titled Low Key, which he describes as an introspective reflection on his personal experiences in music over the years.
“Low Key is my latest single in 2025. It talks about my personal experiences in music over the years. First, I want to thank and appreciate everyone who has supported me from day one,” Nero X shared.
He continued, “Secondly, I want to motivate my fans never to give up in life but to work hard and make money. And lastly, it’s also a way to let people know that I’m still around, working on great things, and keeping it ‘Low Key.’”
